Unstabilised Oats

What does it mean?

In their natural form, oats contain a natural enzyme called lipase which helps the oat grain sprout. The hulling process (removing the outer shell) activates the lipase and can cause the natural fats found in the oats to go rancid. Often rolled oats are heat treated with steam at various stages of the process to inactivate the enzyme lipase and soften the kernel prior to rolling.

Mason’s Country Fresh Rolled Oats are not treated with steam which means they retain their high vitamin content, nutritional value and freshness to ensure our oats come to you just as nature created them. Ideally, keep your oats in the fridge to retain maximum quality.

Pure Rolled Oats ‘Wheat Free’

Our fourth generation family farmers are dedicated to bringing you pure, wheat free oats - from seed to harvest, transport to milling and packaging.

Grown on the Mason Family farm, in the Great Southern region on Western Australia’s south coast, we have continued to grow our premium oats for more than 30 years.

Rotating paddocks between only growing oats, grazing sheep and raising free-range chickens, we can ensure our oats are wheat free. We only use natural fertilisers to improve the soil to ensure it is rich in nutrients to nurture our crops and support growth.

Harvested and transported exclusively with equipment used just for our crops, our oats are carted directly from our paddocks to our on-farm mill. Cleaned twice to ensure they are pure, our oats are rolled fresh in small batched, not stabilised by a heat treatment, leaving them in their natural state for you to enjoy their delicious, creamy texture and taste.

Did you know that oats are naturally gluten free?

Gluten can be found in some oats - if gluten containing crops such as wheat, rye and barley are grown, harvested or processed using the same soil, equipment and facilities - because of cross contamination.

Our pure oats are free from cross contamination, we’re all about being gluten friendly.
